Ist von den Vor­zü­gen der Künst­li­chen Intel­li­genz im Ban­king die Rede, kon­zen­triert sich das meis­tens auf die Ein­satz­mög­lich­kei­ten von Chat Bots, Robo Advi­sors und Sprach­as­sis­ten­ten. Dar­an ist an sich nichts aus­zu­set­zen. Dabei kommt jedoch die Fra­ge, wel­che Funk­ti­on, eine unter­stüt­zen­de, kom­ple­men­tä­re oder eine sub­sti­tu­ti­ve (für Rou­ti­ne­auf­ga­ben) die Assis­tenz­sys­te­me über­neh­men sol­len, zu kurz. Beim Robo Advi­sing über­wie­gen nach mei­nem Ein­druck die sub­sti­tu­ti­ven, bei Sprach­as­sis­ten­ten han­delt es sich dage­gen i.d.R. um kom­ple­men­tä­re, ergän­zen­de Funktionen.

Donald A. Nor­man, Kogni­ti­ons­for­scher und einer der füh­ren­den Usa­bi­li­ty-Exper­ten, ord­net die Rou­ti­ne­auf­ga­ben dem Expe­ri­en­tal Mode, die kom­ple­men­tä­ren, auf Nach­den­ken zie­len­den dem Reflec­ti­ve Mode zu:

The one mode, expe­ri­en­tal, invol­ves data-dri­ven pro­ces­sing: Some­thing hap­pens in the world, and the sce­ne trans­mit­ted through our sen­se organs to the appro­pria­te cen­ters of men­tal pro­ces­sing. But in the expe­ri­en­tal mode, the pro­ces­sing has to be reac­ti­ve, some­what ana­log­ous to the knee-jerk-reflex. .. Expe­ri­en­tal pro­ces­sing does invol­ve some thought, but it is simi­lar to the reflex in that the rele­vant infor­ma­ti­on must alre­a­dy exist in our memo­ry and the expe­ri­ence sim­ply reac­ti­va­tes that information .. .
